MEXICO CITY, Mexico. – President Enrique Peña Nieto decreed this Wednesday three days of national mourning after the earthquake occurred on the eve, which caused more than 200 dead.

The decision was taken to honor the victims of the 7.1 magnitude earthquake, which caused severe damage, notably the collapse of housing, school and business buildings, among others.

Rescue operations continue in particular in Enrique Rebsamen School, where there are children trapped, and the early recovery of a minor is expected, with whom communication was maintained during the first hours of the day.

Rubble-removal works are also carried out in Mexico City in more than thirty buildings demolished by the force of the telluric movement, one of them a seven-storey, where there are signs of people alive under the debris.
