MEXICO CITY, Mexico.- The earthquake of last September 19 in Mexico already claimed 273 lives, according to a preliminary balance that can increase as the work continues to remove the rubble of collapsed buildings, especially in Mexico City.

In the Mexican capital 137 people died, 73 in Morelos, 45 in Puebla, 6 in Guerrero, and 1 in Oaxaca. The figure changes constantly because the work of rescue and rubble removal persists and will not stop.

Meanwhile, the Federal Electricity Commission announced that the power service is reestablished in 95 per cent.

For its part, the National Coordination of Civil Protection urged the population to follow several recommendations, among them to revise the conditions of houses and not to remain in if there is some damage.
