Maputo, Mozambique.- Mozambique”s Foreign Minister, Jose Pacheco, has announced that on Oct. 31 they will vote against the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade on Cuba, diplomatic sources said on Thursday.
Ratification was given by the Foreign Minister during a meeting with the ambassador of Havana in Maputo, Pavel Diaz, at the opening of the 8th Session of the Assembly of the Republic (parliament) this week.
Our government will vote in favor of the resolution ‘Necessity of putting an end to the economic, financial and commercial blockade of the United States against Cuba next October 31 during the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly.’
Pachecho also made reference to the meeting in New York last September between the Presidents of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, and Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, where they reviewed the bilateral agenda.
Mozambique thus will maintain its position of unequivocal rejection of the hostile policy and the blockade of Washington against Cuba, considering its support to Cuba on this issue as a matter of principles of its foreign policy.
