CARACAS, Venezuela. – Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro recognized the plenipotentiary and sovereign power of the National Constituent Assembly as the maximum organ to govern the fate of the Bolivarian country.

In a speech in the Protocol Hemicycle of the Federal Legislative Palace in Caracas, Maduro reiterated that in his status as head of State, he subordinated to the powers of the Constituent.

He remarked that with the creation of the assembly, a process of coexistence with the constituted powers begins, especially with the National Assembly, and everyone must work together in order to consolidate peace.

The Venezuelan President also warned that it is necessary to further consolidate the democratic and popular character of the Bolivarian Revolution, led by Commander Hugo Chavez. Maduro reiterated the Government’s willingness to set up dialogue tables with opposition sectors.
