BUENOS AIRES, Argentina.-The legacy and validity of Fidel Castro´s thought are today strongly felt in the debates of a chair bringing together specialists and guests in the Patagonian province of Neuquen.

Inaugurated last April in Buenos Aires, Fidel Castro chair reached this distant city and on its second day hosted a conference entitled Fidel and Our America in the 21st Century.

Panelist Juan Jose Gonzalez, university professor and veteran Communist militant, focused his exhibition on the harsh special period that spanned the Cuban economy, and the blockade the United States has imposed to the island for more than half a century.

Fidel Castro Chair in Argentina is an initiative arose from the resolution of the last continental assembly of the Movements towards the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Treaty of commerce of the peoples.
