Sacha Llorenti considers this election is a response to Evo Morales’ leadership.

LA PAZ, Bolivia.- The President of Bolivia, Evo Morales, thanked the international community for voting for acclamation to its representative to the United Nations, Sacha Llorenti, as president of the First Committee of the General Assembly.

The ambassador considered this election is a response to the leadership of the President, and to the fact that the country has become a benchmark in economic growth, the fight against drug trafficking and the peaceful resolution of disputes.

Llorenti said the work of the Commission will begin next September, and it will be very intense especially in October and November, and contribute to the strongest possible consensus on those issues at the UN.

The Permanent Representative of Bolivia to the body was previously President of the Security Council, and led the Special Committee on the processes of sovereign debt restructuring.
