ANKARA, Turkey.-The Presidents of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and of Russia, Vladimir Putin, will meet this Thursday in Ankara to talk about the regional situation and reinforce bilateral cooperation.

Agenda items will include the Astana process on a cease-fire in Syria, the consequences of the independence referendum held by the regional government of Iraqi Kurdistan, and the purchase of Ankara from the S-400 ballistic defense system to Russia.

Putin and Erdogan are committed to getting a cease-fire in the war in Syria, and for this they will be responsible together with Iran in applying and controlling the so-called détente zones.
