Jorge Glas defends his innocence against accusations.

QUITO, Ecuador. – The National Court of Justice of Ecuador accepted this Tuesday the precautionary measure prohibiting Vice-President Jorge Glas from leaving the country, following his link in the investigation by illicit association in the Odebrecht case.

Judge Miguel Jurado welcomed the petition, made by Attorney General Carlos Baca, after analyzing all the elements presented; Glas ratified he has no problems with the decision because he does not intend to leave the country.

He also highlighted he will demonstrate to the courts the falsity of all the accusations issued against him for almost two years, which, in his view, respond to a strategy of hatred.

The Ecuadorian Vice-President has defended his innocence in all relevant instances and responded to each indictment, none of which could be proved to date.
