PYONGYANG, North Korea.- With the tribute to the Korean nation’s historic leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Yong Il, the President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez began his second official visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

When he arrived at the Kumsusan Sun Palace, the Cuban President placed a basket of flowers, escorted by two guards of honor, before the statues of both leaders of that Asian nation.

After visiting that sacred site for the nation, Diaz-Canel held a fraternal meeting with Kim Yong-Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly.

Private conversations were held at the Mansudae Palace of Congresses and, during the meeting, both personalities ratified the invariably position of both parties and Governments to foster friendship and solidarity.

Days that Consolidate Friendship

Miguel Diaz-Canel also met the Mangyongdae Revolutionary School, a center located near Pyongyang, dedicated to the military training of the children of the martyrs of Resistance against the Japanese colonizer.

During the day, the Cuban President enjoyed the artistic and gymnastic spectacle titled Resplendent Fatherland, held at the May First Stadium, located in the heart of Pyongyang, and has the shape of a flower.

With a capacity of 150,000 spectators, the stadium in full standing welcomed the Cuban President and his Korean counterpart, Kim Jong-Un.

President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez concludes his official visit to Pyongyang on November 6, to continue his international tour that will take him to China, Vietnam and Laos.
