BRUSSELS, Belgium. – The European Union reported this Wednesday that the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), announced its intention to look for new dates for the upcoming bi-regional Summit, which was convened on October 26 and 27 in El Salvador.

In that sense, diplomats said they trust the meeting will take place in 2018.

The Office of the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Policy, Federica Mogherini, reported the issue was dealt with in New York with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador, Hugo Martinez, whose country holds the rotatory Presidency of CELAC.

Martinez informed Mogherini of the decision taken by the Latin American and Caribbean ministers, who will create a task force to propose new dates for the development of the bi-regional meeting of Heads of State and Government.
