CARACAS, Venezuela. – The extreme right promotes violence through social networks, and it is necessary to eradicate this trend, Venezuelan Minister for Communication Ernesto Villegas said during the first International Forum of Psychology, which is held in Caracas with specialists from Latin America and Europe.

He noted that the extreme right uses misinformation through the matrix installed on Twitter, Periscope, Instagram and Facebook, to present the government as the perpetrator of violence and repression of protesters.

The Venezuelan Minister for Communication underlined this strategy of misinformation aims to foster an extreme response by the followers of the Bolivarian government, to justify a coup d’état, like that of April 2002.

He mention as an example the more than seventy dead during the violent actions of the opposition, and the images presented by social media.
