MATANZAS, Cuba. – Local self-sufficiency and efficiency focused the attention of the exchange this Tuesday between the second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, and executives of agriculture in Matanzas, accompanied by the top authorities of the province.

Radio 26 website reports that Machado insisted on exploiting the land and raising productivity, with an emphasis on livestock and assorted crops.

Matanzas develops henequen, promotes the planting and processing of tobacco and works in the beekeeping recovery to fulfill the plan of collection of honey.

Machado Ventura urged to more control in livestock, and called to export in order to generate income and reach 30 pounds per capita of meat, grains and vegetables per inhabitant.
