MANAGUA, Nicaragua.- Violent groups looted and burned public and private property in Masaya, after a day of aggression and clashes in the Nicaraguan capital. Alleged criminals burned down the Family Courts and destroyed the handicraft market.

Known as the City of Flowers, Masaya dawned desolate, plunged into chaos, destroyed by those who ignore the cry of peace of a large part of the population, exhausted from so much violence and insecurity after more than a month of social and political crisis.

Last Sunday, destabilizing individuals set fire the Prosecutor´s Office, attacked the police station and attempted to loot other facilities, according to Commissioner Ramon Avellan. The acts are added to the wave of violence unleashed yesterday in Managua.

Clashes also occurred at the National Engineering University, occupied by protesters, with a balance of at least ten wounded.
