Wildifires in Italy.

ROMA, Italia. – The surge of wildfires plaguing Italy for several days this Monday approached about twenty-five kilometers to Rome, in the pine forests of Castelfusano, very close to the west coast of the peninsula.

Residents in the area of the fires were evacuated preventively, while traffic was interrupted in a section of the central and crowded Via Cristopher Colombo, which communicates Rome with the coast.

Five helicopters, a seaplane, six autobombs and twenty brigades composed of members of the fire brigade, workers and volunteers, work hard to extinguish the fire.

The flames affected other forests in Campania, from where ten distress calls were made to the Unified Air Operational Center of the Department of Civil Protection, as well as others from Latium
