Havana, Cuba.- The 16th Expocaribe Fair will be held in Santiago de Cuba from June 19 thru 22, 2019, as expression of the will of this island to give space and special treatment to that region, it was informed here.

The official summons to that event will be made during the 36th International Havana Trade Fair (FIHAV 2019), to start next Sunday in Expocuba fair grounds with the participation of over 60 countries, said event organizers.

We are reintroducing this event held systematically in Santiago de Cuba, with the support of the local government and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investments, said the president of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba, Orlando Hernandez.

The official added that the rescue of that forum, of Santiago’s tradition, offers national and foreign businesspeople the opportunity of presenting an offer and demand portfolio, including products and services, new technologies and equipment which will facilitate the identification of interests, economic and commercial complementation among the Caribbean states.

In conversation with Prensa Latina, Hernandez detailed that Expocaribe, with venue at the Cultural Complex Heredia, is a space to promote foreign investment mainly in the five eastern provinces, exports and substitute imports.

The objective is to fix deals in all branches of the economy as part of the improvement of the Cuban economic model, he added.
