Havana, Cuba.- Rain and extreme temperatures close to or above the norm will characterize the weather in Cuba during September, specified a newsletter from the Climate Center of the Meteorology Institute (Insmet).

The increase in rainfall is due to the influence of the Atlantic anticyclone that decreases considerably with respect to July and August, together with the frequent passage of waves and tropical low, explains the note.

According to Insmet, although September is the month with the highest frequency of tropical cyclone formation in our region, the incidence of hurricanes affecting the island is somewhat lower than in October.

In the period, added the statement, associated with the direct or indirect influence of tropical cyclones, usually occur events of heavy downpours.

The specialists pointed out that, taking into account these factors and the appearance of the models consulted by the Climate Center, accumulated rains is predicted for the western part of the country, according to the norm.

Also, they foresee values ​​above that behavior in the rest of the national territory.
