Ciego de Ávila, Cuba.- The use of the Cuban biostimulant Fitomás-M is extended on cane plantations in the center of the island, as a way to increase cane yields in the next sugar harvest.

This product is of great importance to maintain the vegetative state of the cane fields so that farmers take advantage of the humidity of the soils left by the rain of recent days.

The province of Ciego de Ávila, about 430km east of Havana, has the second biofactory plant in Cuba for the production of Fitomás-M and Fitomás-E, which is located in areas surrounding the Ciro Redondo sugar mill.

Miroslava Lorenzo, director of the center, explained that this is a foliar and radicular bionutrient which attenuates the stress caused by drought and high temperatures, as well as counteracting the decrease of the crop.

She specified that in the past year there were around one 1.5 million liters of ripener, destined to the central and eastern provinces to reduce their import into the country.
