Havana, Cuba.-Over 11 international cooperation projects for an amount of about $11 million USD have been developed in recent years by the Cuban Association of Agricultural and Forest Technicians (ACTAF).

These programs are closely related to the strengthening of scientific and technical capacity, agro-ecological articulation, sustainable agriculture design, start-up of mini-industries, among other issues, according to Taymi Milan, ACTAF executive secretary.

At a press conference on the 5th ACTAF Congress, which will be held on July 17 and 18, Milan said that about 300 local delegates will have the opportunity to attend the meeting.

According to the organizer of the event, work commissions related to agriculture and sustainable and prosperous forest development will be in session as a methodological tool, gender equity, especially in the productive field, youth and food sovereignty and international collaboration.

It will be a reaffirmation and commitment congress, ACTAF executive secretary said, an organization that is made up of 26,000 members, 2,140 institutional partners (research centers, business and others).

During the event, delegates will also tackle down different issues such as functioning, internal life, institutional management model and the renewal or ratification of mandates.

This gathering will be the perfect setting for the recognition of workers and entities for their outstanding performance.
