BAYAMO, Cuba. – One person died and other 10 were injured in a traffic accident this Tuesday in the place known as Cerca Blanca on Bayamo-Manzanillo highway.

A truck from a credit and services cooperative in Campechuela municipality took the right of way from a bus from Augusto Cesar Sandino agricultural cooperative, of Artemisa province that was headed towards Manzanillo.

The victim of the accident was Rolando del Toro Mendoza, 19, resident in Contramaestre. Tatiana Montero Sariol, 8, is in serious condition in Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Hospital, Radio Bayamo reported.

The injured in the accident in Bayamo are Yolan Cordova Salgado, Guadalupe Quesada Batista. Rolando del Toro Zaldivar and Odalis Romero Garcia, all them from Artemisa; and Annia Estrada Perez, Dariana Sosa Torres, Ramona Merino, Leodan Lastre and Maria del Rosario Castaneda, from Granma.
