Dam accident investigated in Brazil .

MINAS GERAIS, Brazil.- The Ministry of Mines and Energy of Brazil will open an administrative process to investigate the collapse of a mining dam last January25 in the municipality of Brumadinho, located in southeastern Minas Gerais.

The ordinance was published in the Official Journal of the Union and the administrative process will serve to take measures that are necessary for the prevention, control and mitigation of the consequences of the damage caused by the tragedy.

Similarly, the initiative will force the adoption of provisions on the safety of dams.

Until last Sunday the Fire Brigade of Minas Gerais counted 165 dead found and 160 persons disappeared between officials of Vale Company, owner of the deposit of mineral waste, subcontractors who provided services and members of the community.
