Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa

Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa is visiting Cuba.

Santiago de Cuba, Cuba.- The President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, received the condition of Illustrious Son of Santiago de Cuba, granted by the Municipal Assembly of the People’s Power, in the city hall of that territory.

Correa expressed his gratitude to the Cuban government for giving him the opportunity to pay tribute to Marti and the eternal leader Fidel Castro, examples of fighters in Latin America.

At the end of the act of homage to those two giants of the universal history, in Santa Iphigenia Cemetery, the President of Ecuador said Cuba always gave us his frank hand, also Fidel and now Raul.

During his visit to Santiago de Cuba, the head of State will also tour the housing settlement with 560 apartments built by an Ecuadorian military contingent for the victims of hurricane Sandy, at the east of the city of Santiago de Cuba.
