PINAR DEL RIO, Cuba.-The national act for the anniversary of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) took place this Wednesday at the monument to the Saiz brothers in Pinar del Rio, presided over by Jose Ramon Balaguer, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Party.

Gladys Martinez Verdecia, first secretary of the Party in the province, and Commander Julio Camacho Aguilera attended the ceremony, together with prominent members of the CDR and people in general.

During the national act in Pinar del Rio for the 57th anniversary of the CDR, singer Raul Torres, creator of the song Riding with Fidel received the Prize of the Neighborhood, which he thanked with touching words.

Later, the national coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution, Carlos Rafael Miranda, presented diplomas the provinces of Las Tunas, Santiago de Cuba and Cienfuegos to recognize their work.
