HOLGUIN, Cuba.- The creation of three laboratories at the University of Holguín, dedicated to biological control and plant physiology, will boost the development of new research projects in areas as sensitive as agriculture and biotechnology.

Doctor in Sciences Raymundo Escobar, dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences explained that two of them will be available the next school year.

Escobar also referred to the technological benefits of the equipment, which will allow students and professors to perform chemical and biological analyses for the determination of properties in soil and water samples.

The dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences also underlined that the creation of the laboratories will help to strengthen the university as a center of public good, from a greater link with the institutions in Holguin.
