Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba.- The 38th International Tourism Fair of Cuba, FITCuba 2018, opens today in the northern keys of Villa Clara province with more than 3,000 professionals from around the world.

Key Santa Maria is the ideal setting for this event that has drawn a lot of attention from European markets, and even from the United States and its travel specialists.

The Sercotel Experience Cayo Santa Maria Hotel, opened on March 1, is the venue for the meeting that will last till May 5.

Authorities of the sector stated that seven important hotels will be built in the area, which is part of Caibarien municipality, central Cuban province of Villa Clara.

Sagua la Grande will be also one of focus during the fair, due to its natural beauty, and its rich culture and history, as well as Camajuani, Remedios and Caibarien, municipalities that give way to the northern keys.

Other important investments that will be undertaken are the expansion of the emblematic Los Caneyes Hotel and La Granjita Hotel, in Santa Clara, and the rescue of heritage buildings due to their ideal and attractive characteristics to convert them into accommodation places. Given these news, the area chosen for the fair is ideal and will allow new business for the next tourist season, hence the attention of the participants.

The Sercotel Experience Cayo Santa Maria Hotel is located on an island of 21.4 square kilometers (63.8 percent constitutes land and the remaining marshes and submerged lands occupied by mangrove forests).
