Havana, Cuba.- The low attendance of U.S. delegates to the ABOGACIA 2018 International Congress is the product of the traveling restrictions imposed by the U.S. government to the citizens who want to go to Cuba, said on Wednesday in this capital the organizers of the Cuban event .

The chairman of the committee that coordinates the meeting, Ariel Mantecon, stressed that the difficulties to obtain licenses and credentials in Cuban events, force interested parties to apply for third countries.

Mantecon, also the president of the National Organization of Collective Law Firms (ONBC), said that in spite of these obstacles many American citizens are part of the more than 1,000 participants in the meeting inaugurated in the Havana Convention Center.

‘The economic tensions resulting from the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States and human rights violations on the island, often manipulated by the U.S. press, are realities that the U.S. guests will be able to confirm,’ said Mantecon.

There are three blocks of participants in the congress that will culminate on Friday: Cuban academics, lawyers, members of business organizations and foreign guests.

During the 7th edition, topics related to foreign investment in Cuba, international economic and trade relations will be discussed in three working commissions.
