Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.- The United Arab Emirates and Cuba agreed to broad potentialities to continue developing the excellent bilateral ties, diplomatic sources reported in Abu Dhabi on Monday.

During a meeting between Cuba’s ambassador in Abu Dhabi Jorge Leon and the General Director of the American Affairs department at the EAU Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Al Saghira Al Ahbabi, the two sides committed to work together to strengthen bilateral relations.

Steps and procedures to achieve the signing of a Visa Waiver Agreement between both countries were analyzed during the discussions, and a delegation of experts is coordinating a visit to Havana to negotiate the corresponding technical and consular details.

The Cuban side handed over the UAE delegation the statement of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, rejecting the anti-Cuban slanderous mention of the so-called Lima Group during the meeting held in Santiago de Chile on April 15.

Leon gave a detailed explanation of the solidarity work Cuba has provided in Venezuela, where more than 20,000 collaborators are working in the healthcare sector, as well as thousands of other collaborators in more than 63 countries worldwide.
