QUITO, Ecuador.- The Ecuadorian Coordinator of Friendship and Solidarity with Cuba joined the international rejection of the decision of the United States to apply Title III of the Helms-Burton Act against the island.

In a pronouncement spread in social networks, the organization considered that the extraterritorial scope of the measure violates Cuban sovereignty and that of third countries, interested in doing legitimate business with Cuba.

It seems that the current American Government has failed to understand and discern the sovereign right of peoples to free themselves from neo-colonial domination, wherever it comes from, the Ecuadorian Coordinator of Friendship and Solidarity with Cuba said.

The body also pointed out that the Helms-Burton Act was designed to hinder Cuba’s growing economic and commercial relations with the world, thereby violating international law and the rules governing trade and investment.
