SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador.- The current official visit of President Salvador Sanchez Ceren to Cuba will strengthen the upward relations between El Salvador and the island, diplomatic sources highlighted.

For Carlos Portela, chargé d’affaires of the Cuban Embassy in El Salvador, this visit is extremely important to ensure the continuity of political, economic and development cooperation links.

With its experience, Cuba contributes to the development of the Salvadoran people with their cooperation in education, health and culture, and Ceren´s seeks to defend and strengthen these links, the diplomat said.

The ministers accompanying the Salvadoran President agreed with their Cuban counterparts to implement more projects to benefit the population of that country, such as research on chronic renal diseases, training in epidemiology and health statistics.
