MOSCOW, Russia.- Russia described as interference in the internal affairs of Venezuela the attempts of some nations to legitimize a usurpation of power in that country, in allusion to maneuvers of an opposing Member to proclaim himself as president.

Any solution to the Venezuelan domestic political crisis can only be sought by its own citizens, Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov said.

Peskov underlined that the imposition of decisions from outside or the effort to legitimize attempts to usurp power, from his point of view, are direct or indirect interference in Venezuela’s internal affairs.

At the time, the Russian Chancellery criticized pronouncements of bodies as the European Parliament, on recognizing self-proclaimed President-in-Charge Juan Guaido in violation of the constitutional norms of the Latin American nation.
