QUITO, Ecuador.- Chancellor of Ecuador Maria Fernanda Espinosa advocated for strengthening Latin American regional integration during the Sao Paulo Forum, which ended on the eve of Managua, Nicaragua, as noted by official sources of that nation.

Espinosa greeted the contributions of the meeting of the Latin American leftist movements and urged to consolidate unity among the progressive currents of the region, according to a statement by the Ecuadorian Chancellery.

The Ecuadorian Minister of Foreign Affairs pointed out as a fundamental premise at this historical moment, to overcome the adversities confronted by the processes of emancipation in the geographical area.

Similarly, she called for strengthening mechanisms of integration such as the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, the Union of South American States and the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America.
