New York, United States.-Ambassadors and officials accredited to the United Nations (UN) continued signing today the condolence book, opened by the Cuban Permanent Mission”s headquarters here, to honor the recently deceased revolutionary leader Fidel Castro.

Permanent and temporary representatives for countries in the five continents went to the Cuban diplomatic mission in New York, during the fifth day to sign the book, in which they expressed sorrow, admiration and solidarity for the death of Fidel on Friday, at the age of 90.

Ambassadors from Australia, Brazil, Chile, Cyprus, Finland, Hungary, Solomon Islands, Italy, Kuwait, Mongolia, Motenegro, Romania, Samoa and Zambia, among other nations, wrote their condolences on the book, which will continue open until Sunday.

Around 100 UN member States have expressed their grief for the death of the historic leader of the Cuban revolution.

Also UN top officials signed the book at the permanent Cuban diplomatic mission, including Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, and Antonio Guterres, who will replace him in his post, starting on January 1, 2017.

Dozens of activist of solidarity with Cuba and residents in New York paid tribute to Fidel Castro and some of them carried flowers, flags and photographs of the Cuban leader to the diplomatic mission’s headquarters.
