Havana, Cuba.- Cuban medical collaboration currently confirms the humanistic values of this initiative of Fidel Castro, said Cristina Luna Morales, lawmaker to the National Assembly (Parliament) and physician of the Caribbean island.

During an interview published by the official website of the Cuban Parliament, Luna Morales, who is also the president of the Permanent Commission on Health and Sports, highlighted the work carried out by health professionals who join efforts to contain the coronavirus pandemic in over 20 countries.

They are doctors, nurses and other health professionals who, every day, regardless of the risk they are facing, are capable of giving everything for those in need, in this case those patients with the virus, she said.

The parliamentarian also praised the strategy by the Cuban Government to curb the spread of the novel SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, causing the Covid-19 disease.

The legislators of the Health and Sports Commission are currently linked to the Defense Councils of their territories of residence, where they obtain information on compliance with the measures established by health authorities to fight the pandemic.
