CAMAGUEY, Cuba.- Isabel Gonzalez Cardenas, vice-president of the Provincial Defense Council and head of the Civil Defense in Camaguey, ratified that the people has the permanent support of the direction of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Government in the difficult moments after the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma in Esmeralda, the most affected municipality in the province.

During her appearance at Radio Esmeralda, Gonzalez Cardenas highlighted that the most visible damage in the area are in housing, agricultural plantations and electric power lines, which are a priority to the authorities.

The head of the Civil Defense in Camaguey called on the population to contribute cleaning the streets and to reuse what can be used to advance in the recovery of Esmeralda.

She also referred to the importance of recouping as soon as possible the damage caused by the hurricane in Nuevitas municipality, where important industries for economic development are concentrated, and highlighted the protagonism of women in Nuevitas, Minas, Sierra de Cubitas and Esmeralda.
