Camagüey, Cuba.- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel says that after all the measures adopted in recent weeks to mitigate the impact of the fuel crisis, the country has reported the minimum of effects.

The Cuban leader visited on Thursday the provinces of Las Tunas, Ciego de Avila and Camaguey, where he told local authorities that developments on the island have contradicted all the purposes of the US Administration.

“Once again the Empire has been proved wrong, because what it has achieved is uniting us more, strengthening us more, and the best response, in this case, has been given by the people,” he said.

During his tour of the three provinces the president was briefed about the gradual decrease in consumption and demand for electricity, the result of the application of savings, demand and control measures by state entities, with the growing collaboration of the residential sector.

He commented that there are still more reserves in companies and organizations for a much more efficient and rational use of energy carriers, as evidenced by the out-of-peak shift of various productive and service tasks.
