MADRID, Spain,-  Spanish Media highlighted the rejection of Foreign Minister Josep Borrell to the intensification of the economic blockade of the United States against Cuba, during a visit to Washington, Latin Press report.

According to specialists, the Chancellor visited Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and made clear his opposition to the blockade, in particular to the possible activation of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act.

We have talked about the possibility of the Helms-Burton being applied to Cuba, and the United States already knows we the Europeans and Spain in particular would radically disagree with that, Borrell said.

The Spanish Foreign Minister explained that Spain opposes the implementation of this chapter on a matter of principle, and because it would harm Iberian companies based in Cuba.
