Cuba and Sri Lanka sign memorandum of understanding

HAVANA, Cuba.- The Chancellor of the Socialist Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Mr. Vasantha Naresh Parakrama Senanayake, and Marcelino Medina Gonzalez, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, signed in Havana a Memorandum of Understanding between the Higher Foreign Relations Institutes of both nations.

The document notes the establishment and development of academic cooperation between both parties, and the exchange of scientific, academic and technical information.

Sri Lankan Chancellor Yasinthia Senanayake told Radio Reloj that his country and Cuba are now reaching 60 years of friendship, so the Asian nation will continue the collaboration and support to the island.

In this context, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba thanked the Sri Lankan diplomat for his principled position in voting in favor of Cuba in the UN.
