HAVANA, Cuba.- We will forever say thanks to the leaders, people and the Communist Party of Cuba, Namibian Vice-President Nangolo Mbumba said, referring to the heroic performance of the island that averted a larger number of victims in the Cassinga massacre.

After paying tribute to the internationalist combatants in the Pantheon of Veterans of Independence, in Colon Cemetery, Mbumba expressed his emotion to be in that place, knowing how many Cuban lives were lost, not for gold or diamonds, but for other human beings were free and determined their own future.

Forty years after Cassinga´s barbarism, the Namibian Vice-President thanked the solidarity and assistance of Cuba, which, he stressed, has always united both countries.

On his visit to the Pantheon of Veterans of Independence, the Namibian Vice President was accompanied by Major General Tete Puebla.
