Nicaragua shaken by the violence of some.

MANAGUA, Nicaragua. – Daniel Ortega, President of Nicaragua, announced this Sunday the reversal of the social security reform that, he said, served as a trigger for the violent events in the country promoted by the right since last Wednesday.

Speaking in a national chain, Ortega told the people that the board of Directors of the Nicaraguan Social Security Institute decided to put aside the resolution of April 16 aimed at giving sustainability to the institution.

Accompanied by Vice-President Rosario Murillo and other leaders, the Nicaraguan head of State said that the entity adopted that decision to facilitate discussion and dialogue, and restoring peace.

Ortega also invited the Episcopal Conference of Nicaragua to join the dialogue and highlighted the message Pope Francis sent to the Nicaraguan people calling for an end to useless bloodshed.
