Havana, Cuba.- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel assessed the progress of the sugar harvest, the planting of sugar cane and the reconstruction program of homes affected by hydrometeorological phenomena in recent years, official sources reported in Havana Tuesday.
Accompanied by the second secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Jose Ramón Machado Ventura, and other leaders, the President called for redoubling efforts in these tasks because of their impact on the economy and people lives.
According to a TV report, the harvest presents instability in its production by the rains of recent days, which affected the cuts of cane in most of the national territories.
The progress march of the sugarcane harvest and the follow-up to the program of reconstruction of houses affected by hydrometeorological events are priorities in the Head of State agenda, who leads many of the meetings referred to these issues.
