HAVANA, Cuba.- The Cuban President, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, assessed the march of the sugar harvest, cane planting and the program of reconstruction of houses affected by hydro-meteorological phenomena in recent years.

Accompanied by the Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Jose Ramon Machado Ventura and other leaders, Diaz-Canel called for a redoubling of efforts in these tasks for their impact on economy.

According to a report by the National Television News, the sugar harvest presents instability in its production by the rains of the last days, which affected cane cuts in most of the territories.

The march of the sugar harvest and the follow-up to the program of reconstruction of houses affected by hydro-meteorological events are priorities in the agenda of the Head of State, which leads many of the meetings referring to these topics.
