BUENOS AIRES, Argentina.- Cuba exhibited this Thursday its experience in eliminating mother-to-child transmission of sexually transmitted diseases, at one of the parallel events of the Conference on South-South Cooperation held in Buenos Aires.

During the meeting with the title Optimizing the Role of South-South Cooperation in the Achievement of Universal Health Coverage, delegations delved into how to gain access to learned lessons through this mechanism.

Dr. Evelyn Martinez, head of the Department of International Relations of the Ministry of Public Health, explained that Cuba became the first country in the world to receive the validation of the World Health Organization for the elimination of those mother-to-child viruses.

The Conference also recognized how good practices on the island and Thailand could be an ideal example for other States to know and benefit from the experience
