manglaresMatanzas, Cuba.-The 11th International Symposium on Wetlands Management, which is called by the Cuban Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA), will tackle some priority issues today on wetland preservation.

Such an event, scheduled from November 6th to 10th, in the municipality of Cienaga de Zapata, is organized by the Matanzas CITMA delegation and the National Center for Protected Areas (CNAP).

The organizing committee highlighted the attendance of personalities of science, both internationally and domestically, who will have the opportunity to further some approaches and insights for the objectives of this meeting.

Among them, the Academician Rudolf S. de Groot, the Netherlands; Maria Rivera, Ramsar Convention Secretariat, Switzerland; Elier Tabilio, Center for Wetlands Training, Chile; and Juan Padin, rector of the Metropolitan University of Puerto Rico.

Project Management and Implementation; Environmental Goods and Services; Management, Preservation and Rehabilitation for Ecosystems, Landscapes and Biodiversity; and Governance in Coastal Marine Ecosystems, are some of the most important issues to debate in this event.

Wetlands-2017 Symposium has become a regional initiative of systematic realization and exchanges between experts and academicians; and is biennially organized, according to CITMA.
