HAVANA, Cuba.-The Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong, arrived in Cuba with the aim of strengthening the political, economic and cooperation relations between the two countries.

The Asian leader was greeted at the Jose Marti International Airport in Havana by Esteban Lazo Hernandez, President of the Parliament; the head of the International Relations Department of the Party´s Central Committee, Jose Ramon Balaguer Cabrera, and Vice-Chancellor Rogelio Sierra.

Nguyen Phu Trong will perform an intense agenda during his three-day official visit, which includes conversations with high host authorities and tributes to the national heroes of Cuba and Vietnam.

Tomorrow, the Vietnamese leader is to decorate Cuban President Raul Castro Ruz with the Golden Star Order, the highest distinction of the Asian nation.
