Pinar del Rio, Cuba.- The Minister of Science, Technology and Environment, Elba Rosa Perez, presented this Thursday in this Western Cuban province the projections contained in the Plan of the State to face climate change.

During the exchange, the official showed part of the actions taken by the nation in the short, medium and long term, to mitigate climate change´s effects in areas of the marine coastline and the threats arising from the progress of salinization to farmland.

Pinar del Rio also presented to the Minister of Science, Technology and Environment the strategies that will enrich the Plan of the State to confront climate change, known as Tarea Vida (Life Task) and will include six municipalities of the province.

Gladys Martinez Verdecia, first Secretary of the Communist Party in the territory, said this is a matter of top priority involving managements and society.
