ICOM 2017

HAVANA, Cuba. – The ninth International Meeting of Researchers and Scholars on Information and Communication, ICOM 2017, began this Monday at the Conventions Palace of Havana, and will end next Friday 17.

Raul Garces, dean of the Faculty of Communication at the University of Havana and chairman of the organizing committee, noted that one of the purpose of the meeting is to make visible the Cuban experience in that field.

Garces indicated that with the central theme Society, Working Environments and University: Transdiciplinary Looks from Information and Communication, ICOM 2017 advocates integration between these sciences.

The Dean of the Faculty of Communication added that outstanding scholars such as Ignacio Ramonet from France, John Thompson from the United Kingdom, Carlos Scolari from Argentina and Alfonso Gumucio from Bolivia will teach keynote lectures.
