HAVANA, Cuba. – During the second regular session of the National Assembly of People´s Power it will be presented the project of Constitution, resulting from the process of popular consultation that mobilized Cuba from August 13 to November 15.

A summary of that process was presented last Tuesday to the deputies by Homero Acosta Alvarez, Secretary of the Council of State, in plenary session attended by Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez.

In his speech, Acosta Alvarez explained that around 21 770 people were involved in the organization and processing, in one way or another, of the consultation process.

The Secretary of the Council of State explained that the valuations recognizing the unique and democratic character of the process predominated, and he expressed satisfaction with the importance the Cuban State gives to the people´s opinion, in order to enrich the constitutional reform.

He reiterated that all the proposals made, after their analysis and processing, were grouped into 9 595 model proposals, and although not all of them have an exact reflection in the constitutional text, they contributed to the collective construction of a project that synthesizes the popular will.

Today, members will study, independently, the new project, and on Thursday, grouped in working groups, they will discuss the changes and clarify doubts, a process to be communicated to the population.
