CARACAS, Venezuela.- The Vice-President of the National Electoral Council, Sandra Oblitas, said that whoever is elected President of Venezuela on Sunday will assume the position in January next year.

Oblitas added the governing body is perfectly prepared for the elections of May 20, where the President of the Republic and the representatives of the twenty-three legislative councils will be elected.

She also highlighted that both the technological side and the electoral audits strengthen and guarantee the system beyond the automation of the vote, and they are prepared for that contest.

In addition, Sandra Oblitas reported that is the international accompaniment program is installed this Thursday, and tomorrow will be that of the Venezuelan polling stations.
