Maputo, Mozambique.- Mozambique”s Speaker of Parliament, Veronica Macamo Dlhovo, expressedWednesday condolences to the Cuban people and government after the tornado in Havana, while announcing her first visit to Cuba.

We will always be on the side of the Cuban people in retribution for the country’s contributions to my people’, said the parliamentarian at a meeting with the Cuban ambassador to Mozambique, Pavel Diaz.

The Head of the National Assembly of the Republic also expressed the desire to encourage interparliamentary ties as part of her stay in Cuba scheduled for February 4-7.

Macamo Dlhovo, a member of the Liberation Front of Mozambique’s Political Commission, described bilateral relations as ‘positive and strategic’, according to a press release.

For his part, the Cuban diplomat said the Mozambican delegate’s visit will have a favorable impact on the development of relations between the two parliaments and will allow the definition of actions to provide content and effectiveness.

Both politicians also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
