SANTIAGO DE CHILE, Chile.- The authorities reported that a total of 56 Peruvian, Venezuelan and Colombian citizens were expelled from Chile for committing crimes or violating immigration laws.

The foreigners who left the country by air this Friday completed a new process of expulsion, among them 10 Peruvians and 5 Colombians who will be taken to the capitals of their respective countries.

The Undersecretary of the Interior, Rodrigo Ubilla, reported that of that group, 12 were arrested for participating in actions occurred after the social outburst in October; while 27 had been smuggled into Chile.

Mayor Felipe Guevara commented that foreigners are welcome in Chile, but if they are going to contribute, to work, to generate better conditions for all, not to destroy, and vandalize the city.
