CARACAS. Venezuela. – As part of his official visit to Venezuela, the President of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel attended a special session of the National Constituent Assembly.

A solidarity auditorium gave a warm welcome to the Cuban President, who conveyed greetings from Army General Raul Castro to the Venezuelan Government and people.
Later he recalled the day lived on May 20, when all Cuba followed the presidential elections in Venezuela, until learning the victory reached by President Nicolas Maduro.

Diaz-Canel said that Cuba’s solidarity with Venezuela is and will be unchanged, and in his speech he rejected the media campaigns and the economic aggression against the Bolivarian Revolution, as well as the external attacks orchestrated by Washington and its allies.

For Integration and Peace

During his appearance in the National Constituent Assembly of Venezuela, the Cuban President said that Latin America and the Caribbean should learn from the Venezuelan experience. Our region must unite in its diversity for integration and peace, he pointed out.

When he left the Assembly, Diaz-Canel walked to a place of obligatory visit for all Cuban and Latin American, the equestrian statue of El Libertador in Simon Bolívar Square.

After paying homage to the Latin American independence hero, the Cuban President spoke with Cuban collaborators who arrived to greet him.

In the afternoon, Diaz-Canel will be greeted at the Miraflores Palace by his Venezuelan counterpart, with whom he will hold official conversations.
